10 Rules For A Happy Day

1. TODAY I WILL NOT STRIKE BACK:
If someone is rude, if someone is impatient, if someone is unkind...
I will not respond in a like manner.

2. TODAY I WILL ASK GOD TO BLESS MY "ENEMY":
If I come across someone who treats me harshly or unfairly,
I will quietly ask GOD to bless that individual.
I understand the "enemy" could be a family member,
neighbor, co-worker or stranger.

3. TODAY I WILL BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT I SAY:
I will carefully choose and guard my words
being certain that I do not spread gossip.

4. TODAY I WILL GO THE EXTRA MILE:
I will find ways to help share the burden of another person.

5. TODAY I WILL FORGIVE:
I will forgive any hurts or injuries that come my way.

6. TODAY I WILL DO SOMETHING NICE FOR SOMEONE,
BUT I WILL DO IT SECRETLY:
I will reach out anonymously and bless the life of another.

7. TODAY I WILL TREAT OTHERS
THE WAY I WISH TO BE TREATED:
I will practice the golden rule -
"Do unto others as I would have them do unto me"
- with everyone I encounter.

8. TODAY I WILL RAISE THE SPIRITS
OF SOMEONE WHO IS DISCOURAGED:
My smile, my words, my expression of support,
can make the difference to someone who is wrestling with life.

9. TODAY I WILL NURTURE MY BODY:
I will eat less; I will eat only healthy foods. I will thank GOD for my body.

10. TODAY I WILL GROW SPIRITUALLY:
I will spend a little more time in prayer today: I will begin reading
something spiritual or inspirational today; I will find a quiet place
(at some point during this day) and listen to GOD's voice!!!

Inspiring text messages I received - Part 1

“Blessings always look small if we hold them in our hands.

But if we learn to share them,

We realize how great and precious they are!”

“Avoid the three enemies of personal peace:

regret over yesterday’s mistakes;

anxiety over tomorrow’s problems;

and ingratitude for today’s blessings.”

“To those who see with loving eyes,

Life is beautiful.

To those who speak with a tender voice,

Life is peaceful.

To those who help with gentle hands,

Life is full.

And to those who care with compassionate hearts,

Life is good beyond all measure.”

“Caring is a wonderful gift that no one can buy.

It’s made up of love that roots in our hearts

To make fruits of memory for a lifetime.”

“Positive pictures come out from negatives

Developed in a dark room.

So if you find yourself lonely and in the dark

Understand that life is working

On a beautiful picture for you.”

A Perfect Week

Monday
Wash Day

Lord, help me wash away all my selfishness and vanity,
so I may serve you with perfect humility
through the week ahead.

Tuesday
Ironing Day

Dear Lord, help me iron out all the wrinkles of prejudice
I have collected though the years so that I may see
the beauty in others.

Wednesday
Mending Day

O God, help me mend my ways so I will not set
a bad example for others.

Thursday
Cleaning Day

Lord Jesus, help me to dust out all the many faults
I have been hiding in the secret corners of my heart.

Friday
Shopping Day

O God, give me the grace to shop wisely so I
may purchase eternal happiness for myself
and all others in need of love.

Saturday
Cooking Day

Help me, my Savior, to brew a big kettle of
brotherly love and serve it with clean,
sweet bread of human kindness.

Sunday
The Lord's Day

O God, I have prepared my house for you.
Please come into my heart so I may spend
the day and the rest of my life in your presence.

When I say "I am a Christian"

When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm clean living".
I'm whispering "I was lost",
Now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I don't speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble
and need CHRIST to be my guide.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak
and need HIS strength to carry on.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed
and need God to clean my mess.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are far too visible
but, God believes I am worth it.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartaches
So I call upon His name.

When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not holier than thou,
I'm just a simple sinner
Who received God's good grace, somehow.
